National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), was established on 9th March, 1977 by the merger of two national level institutions, viz. the National Institute of Health Administration and Education (NIHAE) and the National Institute of Family Planning (NIFP). The NIHFW, an autonomous organization, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, acts as an ‘apex technical institute’ as well as a ‘think tank’ for the promotion of health and family welfare programmes in the country.

National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) has released notification for filling up 09 vacancies for the post of Professor, Assistant Professor & Various Posts.

• Professor (Reproductive Bio Medicine) – 01 Post
• Professor (Epidemiology) – 01 Post
• Reader (Reproductive Bio Medicine) – Medical – 01 Post
• Reader (Reproductive Bio Medicine) – Non-Medical – 01 Post
• Reader (CHA) – Medica – 01 Post
• Assistant Professor (Education & Training) – Medical – 01 Post
• Assistant Professor (Reproductive Bio-Medicine Clinic) – 02 Post
• Research Officer (HG) – 01 Post

NIHFW Selection Process will be based on Interview.

Eligibility : –

• Professor (Reproductive Bio Medicine) – Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in section 13(3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Postgraduate degree in Surg./Med./Obst. & Gynae./ Such as MD/MS or equivalent degree of a recognized University.
• Professor (Epidemiology) – Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of education qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in section 13 (3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Post graduate degree such as MD (CHA)/ MD (PSM)/ MD (Community Medicine) or an equivalent degree of a recognized University / Institute.
• Reader (Reproductive Bio Medicine) – Medical – Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in section 13(3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Postgraduate degree in Surg. / Med. / Obst. & Gynae. / such as MD/ MS or equivalent degree of a recognized University / Institute.
• Reader (Reproductive Bio Medicine) – Non-Medical – Good academic record with at least 50% marks in Master’s degree in Physiology, Zoology or Biochemistry with specialization in Reproductive Endocrinology from a recognized University / Institution and Doctoral degree in Physiology/Zoology/Biochemistry/Male contraception/ Reproductive Endocrinology or equivalent published work in the concerned area from a recognized university / institution.
• Reader (CHA) – Medical – Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in section 13(3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Postgraduate degree such as MD (CHA) / MD (PSM) / MD (Community Medicine) or an equivalent degree of a recognized University / Institute.
• Assistant Professor (Education & Training) – Medical – Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in section 13 (3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Post graduate degree such as MD (CHA) / MD (PSM)/ MD (Community Medicine) / or an equivalent degree from a recognized University / Institute.
• Assistant Professor (Reproductive Bio-Medicine Clinic) – Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in section 13 (3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Post graduate degree in Surgery/ Medicine/ Obst. & Gynae or equivalent degree from a recognized University / Institute.
• Research Officer (HG) – Master’s degree in Behavioral Science/ Economics/ Statistics/ Demography/ Operation Research, Management Sciences/ Public Administration/ Environmental Sciences/ Education/ Public Health Nursing etc. (as per requirement of the post) of a recognized university or equivalent.
